The Uplands restaurant or cafe premises you could buy for £35,000 to start a new adventure

An opportunity has arisen for someone to start a new and exciting business venture in a thriving part of Swansea's Uplands where a popular former cafe once stood. The former Maisies street food and bar premises along Uplands Crescent has been put up for sale on a leasehold basis for £35,000.

Well-known locally for its crepes, waffles, street food and cocktails, Maisies closed its doors for the last time on Sunday, July 24. It came after "all options had been explored" to keep the business going, with the owners saying the difficulties caused by the coronavirus pandemic were too hard for them to overcome. The premises is suitable for catering for up to approximately 70 people, and has an open plan seating, bar area, fitted kitchen, pot wash area, and ancillary stores to the basement. It also has an alcohol license and planning permission for an outdoor seating area towards the rear of the premises. It is not the only change to the make up of Uplands Crescent in recent times. The Optimist has also shut permanently, having been forced to close during the coronavirus pandemic, and not re-opening since. Ryan Hole, director of The Secret Hospitality Group, confirmed at the time that he and his team had decided to take their business in a "different direction," focusing on their other three venues: The Secret Bar and Kitchen, The Green Room Bar and Kitchen and Castellamare.
