The UK’s biggest vintage kilo sale is coming to Swansea and Cardiff

They say everything comes back around in the world of fashion. And fans of vintage clothing will go all out to prove what's old is new at two huge events coming up in Wales next month. Worth The Weight vintage, which was founded in 2018 as a way of "fighting fast fashion", will be bringing ten tonnes of clothing from the sixties onwards.

An event will be held at Swansea's Brangwyn Hall on Saturday, June 25 from 11pm until 5pm, and another event will take place the following day at The City Hall in Cardiff on Sunday, June 26 from 10am until 4pm. Those behind the events say that every article of clothing is "handpicked and graded by an expert team". Get stories like this straight to your inbox with our newsletters.

Stock will be replenished all day so rails "will always be full and fresh" no matter what time you arrive. The price of heavy clothing such as coats is capped at a maximum of £20. Once you've bagged your vintage haul, you will head over to a weighing stations where you will be met by a member of the team who will tell you how much you have spent. Both cash and card will be accepted at both events.

The company says on its website: "Since then we've taken the UK by storm travelling the length and breadth of the country with tonnes of amazing vintage stock every weekend. Every piece of our stock is handpicked and graded by our expert team at our huge premises in Sheffield, Yorkshire. Unlike other kilo sales, our stock isn't the leftovers after other traders have had their pick! It's bought in especially for these events and it's Grade A stuff. 100% amazing stock, direct from our supplier, to you the consumer. You really can find gems within our rail with designer, branded and rare pieces mixed in with vintage staples. Anything that doesn't make the grade is sent to our on site sewing studio to be repaired or freshened up in our laundry. Anything we can't use is sent to charitable causes. Nothing goes to waste."
