UEFA's stance over dangerous pyrotechnic incidents has been set this season - and this is what Rangers could expect to be faced with.
The Union Bears set off fireworks and flares inside Ibrox just before the Europa League match with Lyon kicked off.
Referee Svan Jablonski had to delay the start of the match as the display raged on directly behind the goal in the Copland Road Stand.
A similar incident occurred in August as Chelsea faced Servette in Switzerland.
The Swiss side were heavily punished by UEFA's governing body, with their supporters also letting off numerous pyro inside their stadium.
They were fined €43,000 over the trouble - and more importantly, the section of the stadium that usually houses their 'ultras' will now be closed for the next European match they participate in.
So, the prescedent has been set regarding these sort of situations, and Rangers could potentially face the full or partial closure of the Copland Stand for their next home match in the Europa League.
The Scottish Premiership side has, of course, recently returned to Ibrox following the completion of construction works carried out on that section of the stadium.

Belgian match delegate Johny Vanspauwen submitted his report to UEFA last night, with the pyro display by the Union Bears at the top of his list, according to the Scottish Sun.
Rangers' next match at Ibrox in the Europa League comes on Thursday, October 24 when Steaua Bucharest come to Glasgow.
They will then host Ange Postecoglou's Tottenham before Christmas, before welcoming Union Saint-Gilloise in January.
It is anticipated that Rangers will find out their fate when UEFA deliver its verdict over the disciplinary matter during the international break.
Eintracht Frankfurt and Galatasaray have been hit with similar sanctions in recent years too.
