The annual Twelfth of July parades will take place in towns and villages across Co Fermanagh this Tuesday.
The event will see parades held across the length and breadth of the county, and the annual celebration leads to two bank holidays for many. With the main parade taking place in Enniskillen, some traffic disruption is to be expected in the town.
While Fermanagh and Omagh District Council have said their services for bin collection will continue as normal, recycling centres around the district will close on Tuesday, to reopen on Wednesday.
A spokesperson for the PSNI provided details of the road closures that will be in place in Enniskillen on Tuesday 12 July.
“The Co Fermanagh 12th July Parade will be held in Enniskillen. Visitors are reminded that there will be no parking along Belmore Street, East Bridge Street or through the Town Centre to the junction of Queens Street / Darling Street,” the PSNI said.
“This is to allow adequate space for spectators to watch the parade. Disabled Parking will be in Eden Street Car Park, Wellington Road at Toy Town, Quay Lane and Gaol Square.
“The front row at these locations are left for disabled parking and the remaining parking at these locations are suitable for persons with limited mobility.
“Police will have No Waiting Cones in areas agreed with the event organisers. Police on duty will ensure that the No Waiting Restrictions are strictly complied with.
“Traffic will, where possible, be kept flowing along the Dublin Road, Tempo Road, Crannog Way, Irvinestown Road, Cornagrade Road, Queen Street and New Bridge unto the Sligo Road or Shore Road and vice versa.”
Police have asked that all motorists leave additional time to complete their journeys safely.
Meanwhile, on bin collections this week, the local council said: "Bin collections will be operating as normal, however, we are experiencing operational issues in some areas of the District and details of the affected areas will be posted on our social media channels. Recycling Centres will be closed on 12 July 2022 and reopen as normal on 13 July 2022."
