The Twelfth: Details of Derry city centre road closures ahead of bank holiday

Tuesday will see the annual Twelfth of July parades roll into towns and villages across Co Derry, with parades being held across the county.

Scores of Orangemen, women and juniors – accompanied by the region of 600 marching bands – will step out at the different locations with pageantry, colour and heritage on display.

Due to several parade routes happening across the city before the main parade taking place in Limavady, some road closures can be expected throughout the city.

In relation to road closures, a statement from the PSNI said: "Motorists are advised of traffic disruption across the District this evening, Monday, July 11, and tomorrow, in Derry and in Strabane, as a result of feeder parades for the Twelfth of July.

"Tonight, there are feeder and return parades in Castlederg, Newtownstewart, Donemana and Artigarvan between 7.00PM and 9.00PM.

"Tomorrow, in Derry, the main morning parade leaves from Clooney in the Waterside at approximately 8.00AM, proceeding to Bishop Street in the cityside, via Craigavon Bridge, and returns to Limavady Road for transportation to the Limavady demonstrations.

"The main evening parade will take place in the city leaving from Clooney in the Waterside at approximately 5.00PM, and proceeds to Bishop Street, via Craigavon Bridge. Drivers should be aware of some delays and diversions regarding these parades when travelling through the city.

"Tomorrow, there will also be feeder and return parades in Strabane, Sion Millls, Newtownstewart, Castlederg, Donemana, Artigarvan and Plumbridge between 8am to 11.30am, and between 5pm and 8pm. Please follow any diversions in place."
