The first trailer for The Traitors US season two has arrived, teasing appearances by former House of Commons speaker John Bercow and ex-Love Island contestant Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu.
The pair’s surprising casting was revealed in September with a number of fans sharing their bemused reactions on social media.
The game show, fronted by Claudia Winkleman in the original UK version, sees a group of strangers split into Faithfuls and Traitors, and tasked with playing the ultimate game of deception in order to win a large cash prize.
In the US version, which airs on Peacock, Scottish actor Alan Cumming plays the role of gamesmaster.
In the trailer shared Thursday (14 December), Bercow can be seen speculating over a “silent slaughterer”; meanwhile, Cülcüloğlu gasps at some unknown revelation.
Bercow, 60, resigned as Speaker in 2019 after a decade in the role and was replaced by Sir Lindsay Hoyle. He served as the Conservative MP for Buckingham between 1997 and 2019.

29-year-old Cülcüloğlu is known for winning the eighth series of ITV2’s Love Island in 2022 alongside Davide Sanclimenti. She has gone on to star in a travel series with Sanclimenti (Ekin-Su & Davide: Homecomings) and competed in the fifteenth series of Dancing on Ice in 2023.
The reality series, set in a remote castle in the Scottish Highlands, will arrive on 12 January 2024.
Bercow and Cülcüloğlu are joined on the series by heavyweight boxer Deontay Wilder, basketball player Marcus Jordan – son of NBA legend Michael Jordan – and other US reality stars from shows including Survivor, Dancing With The Stars and The Real Housewives Of Orange County.
Unlike the UK version, which is made up of regular members of the public, the US version of the show consists entirely of celebrities.
A total of 21 famous people will compete for the $250,000 (£203,000) prize.
The Traitors UK version is also returning for a second series with the first episode set to air on 3 January at 9pm on BBC One.
Last December, the game show became a word-of-mouth hit throughout its three weeks on the air, with many watching it over the Christmas period.
The first season of The Traitors US is currently available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
