The Trafford Centre has a variety of job vacancies available in a broad range of stores and restaurants. There are many opportunities available at the shopping centre, with roles in retail and hospitality, at both entry level and management.

The Trafford Centre is third largest indoor shopping centre in the UK by retail space, situated around five miles away from Manchester’s city centre. It boasts more than 250 stores and eateries – as well bowling alleys and a cinema – across its more than two million square feet of floor space.

More than 30m customers come to the centre every year, according to its website, and it employs thousands of staff. So, if you fancy joining the huge workforce at one of the biggest retail sites in the country, here are some of the jobs at the Trafford Centre you can apply for now.

Sales Associate – Hugo Boss

Competitive salary plus commission

Boss is seeking a new sales associate to join its store on the Trafford Centre’s Upper Peel Avenue.

Duties within this role include:

  • Delivering Customer Service Excellence whilst building a loyal customer base of repeat shoppers.
  • Customer relationship management data gathering and quality management.
  • Contributing to achieve the store’s performance targets and individual KPIs.
  • Supporting in transaction, complaint and return handling.
  • Participating in regular training to continuously develop.
  • Supporting in all operations for loss prevention and stock management.

The ideal candidate will have previous retail, hospitality or customer service experience, and an excellent understanding of the premium fashion industry.

Assistant Store Manager – Hugo Boss – Selfridges

Competitive salary plus commission

Hugo Boss’ store within Selfridges has an opportunity to join the team as an Assistant Store Manager, supporting the Store Manager to monitor and manage all store areas and team members.

Responsibilities within this role include:

  • Full responsibility of all store areas and team members in the absence of the Store Manager and any operational tasks connected with this.
  • Supporting the Store Manager in the recruiting process, staff planning and performance measurement.
  • Driving the team to achieve the location’s performance targets and KPIs.
  • Implementing and maintaining a customer centric mindset to build a loyal customer base.
  • Driving the use of all available tools and ensuring procedures are executed and policies followed.

Team Member/Cookie Decorator – Millie’s Cookies

£9.50 per hour

Millie’s Cookies is looking for a new Cookie Decorator to join its busy Trafford Centre store with an immediate start.

Responsibilities within this role include:

  • Demonstrating knowledge of Millie’s Cookies products to advise customers in a professional and helpful manner.
  • Maintaining all unit displays in accordance with Millie’s Cookies standards.
  • Decorating cookies as per customer request/brand standards.
  • Consistently meeting shift/daily average spend, waste and portion control targets.
  • Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and appearance in all work areas.

Due to lone working hours candidates must be aged 18 or over.

Employees will receive up to 75 percent employee discount on a variety of brands including M&S, Starbucks and Burger King.

Retail Supervisor – Nespresso

£22,000 per annum

Nestlé is seeking a proactive and commercially driven supervisor to join the team at its Nespresso store, helping it to achieve sales targets through premium customer service.

Duties within this role include:

  • Completing shop floor observations and providing feedback to the team in line with management support.
  • Utilising customer experience and everyday coaching across the team.
  • Delivering a high standard of customer service.
  • Facilitating team training sessions.
  • Taking accountability for managing and resolving escalated complaints.
  • Monitoring and leading on internal control processes.

The ideal candidate will previous supervisory shop floor experience in the retail sector and a proven track record of delivering exceptional customer service.

Store Supervisor – Vans

The Vans store has an opportunity for an entry level management position, in which the successful candidate will act as the vital link between store management and the sales associates.

Duties within this role include:

  • Supporting the management team to drive sales and profitability.
  • Coaching and motivating the sales associates to deliver high levels of customer service, ensuring the store is always customer-ready.
  • Making sure the store looks great, maintaining all retail operation standards in line with visual merchandising guidelines.
  • Ensuring operational policies and procedures are respected.

The ideal candidate will come from a retail background with some fashion or lifestyle experience and have experience in opening and closing a store, taking responsibility and being in charge when necessary.

This is a part-time role with 20 hours per week required. It also offers 50 percent staff discount.

£13,674 per annum plus commission

The Trafford Centre’s EE store is look for a new customer advisor to help customers choose the product which suits them from a range of mobile devices, broadband and more.

Duties within this role include:

  • Finding every opportunity to boost the store’s success with sensational customer service.
  • Creating an environment in which customers feel welcome and comfortable.
  • Engaging customers in genuine, enjoyable conversations to understand their needs.
  • Helping people choose the right products and showing them how to make their digital life better.
  • Keeping up to date with all our products, services and promotions, and those of competitors.
  • Taking pride in the appearance of the store, keeping it clean and tidy at all times.

The ideal candidate will able to show how they have worked to and achieved sales targets or deadlines, while showing an interest in communications technology. Prior experience in retail, sales or service would be advantageous, as would knowledge of the telecoms sector.

Salary comes with uncapped monthly commission, based on personal and store targets.

This is a part-time role with 25 hours per week required.

Stylist – AllSaints

Designer clothing brand All Saints has an opportunity to join its Selfridges team as a stylist, spending time on the shop floor styling and influencing its customers.

Duties within this role include:

  • Styling customers in the latest collections, sharing detailed product knowledge and providing them with an exceptional brand experience.
  • Maintaining the store’s aesthetic; ensuring that product is readily available for our customers and that floor sets and standards are upheld at all times.

There is an exciting management role at the East Asian street food restaurant in the Trafford Centre’s The Orient food court.

Responsibilities within this role include:

  • Achieving target sales/profitability and customer satisfaction through the effective management of stock control.
  • Ensuring the schedule is completed each shift.
  • Ensuring standards of service and physical presentation are delivered effectively.
  • Meetings with supervisors and team leaders.
  • Staff recruitment, staff rota setting/reconciliation
  • Staff training and assessment.
  • Orders, deliveries, storage: drink stock, non-food materials and food.

Candidates should have one years’ experience of hospitality management, though full training will be provided.

This is a full-time role with 35-48 hours per week required. Part-time roles are available.

The Trafford Centre’s Boots branch is looking for a L’Oreal Consultant to help its customers feel and look great while ensure they return to the store.

Duties within this role include:

  • Being the in-store brand expert, letting customers know you are always on hand to help with anything they need.
  • Geting to know new product ranges that have just hit the shelves, and which sought after items are on trend, having either been featured online or in magazines.
  • Offering customers advice on products they will love and inform them of the latest in-store promotions.
  • Achieving and add to store sales targets.
  • Inspiring the store teams and customers with energetic and friendly service.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about beauty and beauty products and have great customer service skills.

This is a full-time role with 37.5 hours per week required.
