The totally free Netflix alternative that no one is talking about

Netflix account holders will be paying more for the movie streaming service from May 20.

Across the UK, basic and standard plans will increase by £1 per month to £6.99 and £10.00 respectively, and the premium subscription will increase by £2 to £15.99.

Netflix increased their prices not too long ago, with the cost of standard and premium subscriptions increasing in January 2021.

With the cost of living on the rise, Netflix could see a large number of its over 14 million UK subscribers decide to cancel their account.

Movie streaming rival Disney+ has also increased prices from £5.99 to £7.99 a month for UK customers.

Amazon charges £5.99 a month for Prime Video, however there is a little-known section of Amazon that offers free films and TV series for those who sign up.

In 2019, Amazon launched a free TV service on IMDB, a film website owned by the media giant.

Last month it rebranded to Amazon Freevee, which is currently available on the Amazon website.

The free service streams TV series such as Sinbad, Bosch: Legacy and Hell's Kitchen, as well as films and documentaries.

Amazon Freevee is a cost-free alternative for those who no longer want to pay for their Netflix subscription.

The service should not be confused with Amazon Prime Video, the subscription service priced at £7.99 per month or £79 for the entire year.

There are discounts for students and if somebody in your household has a subscription there are also family discounts that can cut the cost.

There is also a free trial available that allows you to sign up for Prime completely free for a month.

Amazon Prime was originally launched to allow customers of the site to get extra delivery options.

In recent years Amazon has expanded Prime to a streaming service, offering movies, shows, and documentaries.

Prime users also get access to some Kindle books and other freebies throughout the Amazon website.
