We are committed to working alongside partner agencies, local representatives and members of the community to address any problems that may arise, including anti-social behaviour and violent offences.

“For example in the Holyland area during September and October police made 32 arrests, reported 11 people and disposed of 4,367 units of alcohol during an operation to target crime and anti-social behaviour. Local Police routinely patrol the areas mentioned and often post the work undertaken on our social media feeds and on Nextdoor.

“Over the course of the last week for example, between January 22 and January 27, our preliminary figures indicate we have made over 40 arrests for a wide range of offences across South Belfast, including drugs offences, theft, vehicle theft, sexual assault, domestic assault, firearms offences and road safety offences. A stolen car has been recovered, quantities of drugs and a firearm seized.

“We constantly monitor crime trends and deploy our resources to the areas of greatest need and vulnerability and regularly run targeted policing operations, working alongside partners to address community concerns.

“Police will robustly address any criminal activity and I would encourage anyone affected by any criminal activity to contact police in order to enable us to take action. Any incident can be reported on the non-emergency number 101.
