The Tim McCann "f****** crazy" moment Larne fans will never forget

Tim McCann will be fondly remembered at Inver Park.

It was announced on Wednesday night that the 50-year-old had left his role as first team coach due to "work commitments".

It brings the curtain down on a successful five-year spell at the club, which took in promotion to the Premiership, back-to-back County Antrim Shields and successive European qualifications.

It's fair to say Larne will also miss McCann's injection of fun around the place, and his ability to light up a changing room with humour and and self-deprecation.

He even knew how to get the opposition laughing, as this video proves.

It came during a pre-season tour to Poland three years ago when the Inver Reds took on German club Chemnitzer FC in a friendly game in Gdansk, going on to claim a late 1-0 win.

But it was this sliding tackle from McCann that stole the headlines.

And just check out Larne manager Tiernan Lynch's reaction afterwards, with head in hands:

Explaining what had happened, McCann said at the time: "Johnny McMurray had slide tackled one of their players and I spotted a few of the Chemnitzer players starting to run towards him. I thought it was going to kick off.

"That's when I decided to run over and try and diffuse any potential trouble, but I forgot I had swapped my boots for trainers before the game, so when I hit the grass I ended up doing a two-footed tackle on one of their players.

"Tiernan tried to walk over but he just buckled over laughing."

Whilst McCann's intervention could have added fuel to the fire, Chemnitzer's players were even reduced to laughter.

"I thought things were going to explode, but I think they realised what had happened," McCann added.

"Their goalkeeper came over and was hugging Tiernan and just laughing, and then he came over to me and just said "you're f*****g crazy".

"He's probably not far wrong."
