Equipment managers are some of the most underappreciated people in the professional sports world. If you disagree, perhaps what happened between the Thunder and Grizzlies will change your mind.
You see, Sunday night was supposed to be a run-of-the-mill game between Oklahoma City and Memphis. There was no deeper intrigue in a tilt between one of the league’s best teams (Memphis) and one of the worst (Oklahoma City). Each would punch in their 48 minutes and punch out. No harm. No foul. Everyone goes on their merry way.
There was one tiny problem: Someone forgot to tell the two teams to wear different-colored uniforms, an issue no one thought to notice or rectify until right before tip-off.
Oops.

I don’t know about you, but it’s hard to do things like complete passes to your teammates when everyone’s wearing the same colors. It’s kind of a big deal. Have no fear: Memphis would go into the locker room and change into their customary blues despite a slight delay. Everyone, eventually, did go on their merry way.
Perhaps it’ll get both squads to appreciate the people behind the scenes a little more, too.
