The top 21 most 'wishlisted' homes by the British public for 2021 include three Welsh gems in the top five, only being beaten to the very top spot by a converted pigsty in Winchester.
Airbnb have just announced their most frequently saved properties on their site by Britons, and for the first time they are all located in the UK.
After a tumultuous year it appears that, according to the company, our approach to travel has certainly changed from previous years.
The homes most liked on the site have obviously taken a definite turn closer to home due to the current and changing travel circumstances brought about by the coronavirus pandemic.
The company state that in the past the most 'wishlisted' homes have been dominated by far-flung and exotic destinations, this year it's all about rural retreats to explore on domestic shores.
The list of the top 21 properties revealed today shows the rising popularity of rural retreats, including cabins and farm stays, and the three Welsh sites that have appeared in the top five certainly confirm this current trend.
The Willow, Pembrokeshire
The Willow appears in the list at number two and illustrates the recent and noticeable increase in the popularity of this west Wales county, not just for staycations but also for property purchases.

Not only is The Willow surrounded by incredible rural views embedded within a very private location, the cute and distinctive property is also seen to be by many guests as the ultimate in luxury glamping.
Inside the contemporary space, as well as the distinctive curved ceiling and cool bunks built into the wall that the kids will love, the pod has a full kitchen, shower room, two smart TVs and wifi.

Outside, the hobbit-home style structure is nestled within the farmland and is the perfect spot for stargazing or watching the sunset from the hot tub.
In daylight hours the hot tub looks inviting too, or how about quietly reading on the decked veranda surrounded by pure peace with only the occasional nearby cow to add to the bird song to disturb you?

Customer reviews on the Airbnb site mention the cosy and well-equipped cabin, the views and the peace.

Twmbarlwm Luxury Retreat, near Risca
Third on the top 21 list is a farm stay in the countryside on the Risca side of the local landmark hill Twmbarlwm.

Surrounded by peace and sweeping views in this rural location, the Twmbarlwm Luxury Retreat is a cabin built discreetly into the hills, away from the farm itself.
The owners say you won't be disturbed by any neighbours but you will be close to some of the best mountain biking trails and downhill tracks in the UK.
But any visitors not interested in biking have a wealth of activities at the farm and just beyond to enjoy.
Visit the farm animals, enjoy a picnic at the wildlife pond, finished off with an enjoyable evening around the firepit back at the cabin.

The Cwmcarn forest drive, rambling routes, cycle paths and the site's visitor centre are not too far away if you want to wander further up the valley and away from the cabin.
Visitor reviews include describing the cabin as modern and trendy but cosy and homely too.
As well as the very enticing hot tub, the cabin has wifi, full kitchen and even a work space if you need to do any paperwork; but the view from this workspace surely beats the one from the office.

The Pond and Stars Cabin, near Abergele
At number four in the list of favourites is also the third site representing Wales; The Pond and Stars Cabin.
Located in the heart of the county of Conwy, this distinctive cabin sits on the bank of the prettiest of wildlife ponds.

It has been designed to include a balcony, complete with porch swing, as the prime position to enjoy the rural vistas of rolling hills or nature unfolding right in front of you across the water.
Although Snowdonia and local attractions are close and can be reached by car, the quirky cabin has all you need to stay put and enjoy the peace.
But any trips off-site will surely be concluded with the excitement of coming back to such a special place.

For couples wanting a romantic getaway to solo adventurers looking for a break to refresh and recharge, the cabin offers all the facilities required including kitchen, shower room, heating, wifi and cable TV but you'll have to bring your own wellies if you fancy exploring the surrounding land.
Visitor reviews focus mainly on the views, the location and the comfort with the privacy a definite bonus.
