Thirsty Punters Held A Lookalike Contest For The UnitedHealthcare CEO Shooting Suspect

The internet is thirsting so hard over the UnitedHealthcare CEO shooting suspect that he got his own look-a-like competition in New York. And yes, someone won the contest.

Over the last week, the US has gone into a frenzy over the death of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, with many Americans posting memes following the news of his passing.

Thompson, 50, was shot on Wednesday (local time) outside of the Hilton Hotel in Manhattan ahead of the US health insurer’s investor conference. The CEO was taken to hospital but was unable to be saved.

Since then, authorities have been scrambling to find the man who was responsible for the CEO’s death, releasing info about the weapon as well as CCTV Images of a man who they want to question over the incident.

With the internet being the internet, as well as the majority’s lack of empathy for the CEO, folks began to admit their attraction to the alleged gunman.

Now, it appears that the thirst has reached maximum level, with someone in New York organising a look-a-like competition for the suspect.

Surprisingly a man known as “Contestant #6” won the contest. Following his win, the man joked he was the suspect, telling other spectators: “I mean, I am the guy. I just got back from Atlanta.”

At the time of writing, the alleged shooter is still at large, with the Associated Press reporting that the FBI is offering a USD$50,000 (AUD$78,200) reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction.

No, the FBI did not host the NYC competition.
