Alexandra Palace has announced plans to turn its terrace into a beer garden – said to be one of London’s largest – which will open this weekend on July 4.
Known fittingly as The Terrace, the space will cover 1500 square metres, offering drinks and music every Friday, Saturday and Sunday throughout the summer, as well as street food from Backstreet Diner, Steak It Easy, Last Night a Vegan Saved My Life, Wood Fired Pizzas and Waffle Float. It becomes the latest beer garden in the capital to confirm its opening, following the likes of Pub on the Park, The Canonbury Tavern and Anchor Bankside.
Booking will be required, with tickets costing £5 per person and sessions lasting from 90 minutes to two-and-a-half hours. Tables will be for a minimum of two people and a maximum of six, with orders made through an at-table app and cash not accepted. Doors will open at 10am and close at 10pm.
Organisers say guests can be assured of strict health and safety measures, with social distancing being maintained, hand sanitisers throughout and enhanced cleaning protocols in place.
The new beer garden will open just in time for the Drive in Film Club, which is running from July 4 – 31, offering three film screenings on both Saturdays and Sundays and two a day during the week. Films announced so far include Joker, Grease, Toy Story, The Goonies, Up, and A Star Is Born.
