The Tenby flat that costs the same as a mansion because the view is out of this world

If you’re fortunate enough to have a few hundred thousand pounds lying around and you’re in the market for a new property, there are plenty of options strewn across the whole of Wales.

You could relocate to the country, you could buy a big pile of a place in a suburb of a Welsh city, or you could purchase something a bit smaller but with an incredible view. You can get the latest WalesOnline newsletters e-mailed to you directly for free by signing up here.

In Tenby, a town described as the jewel in Pembrokeshire’s crown, a flat has come up for sale which offers just that. It’s only a two/three bedroom flat, but it costs the same as a very large house in Cardiff, and the main reason for that is actually what lies outside the property, rather than inside.

The flat overlooks North Beach and the town’s famous harbour. You can see the sea from your bedroom, or sit next to a window in the kitchen and just watch the world go by, as the ocean glistens in the background. It's located on The Croft in the northern end of Tenby, a couple of minutes’ walk from the shops, bars and restaurants located along High Street, St Julian’s Street and Upper and Lower Frog Street.

The apartment can be found on the second floor of the Court House building, part of The Guildhall development which also includes Nash house and Glendower House. The property is made up of a living room, a kitchen and dining room, two bedrooms with en-suites, a cloak room, and a third bedroom which could also be used as a study, while the flat also comes with underground parking for two cars.

Once on the second floor of the building, you enter this beautiful apartment into the hallway, which leads off to the two bedrooms and the living room, which is all open-plan alongside the dining and kitchen area. This part of the flat, together with the smaller third bedroom, offer the views that make this property stand out.

There are two windows in the living room, and a further two in the kitchen and dining room, all offering a glorious sight of the beach, sea and harbour. On the opposite side of the apartment, the hallway leads to the two main bedrooms, with windows overlooking The Norton, together with a toilet and the two en-suite bathrooms.

The apartment is being marketed by Birt and Co with a guide price of £650,000, more than double the average house price in Wales which stands at around £230,000. The average house price in Cardiff is just under £300,000, but for £650,000 you could get your hands on a new build, five-bedroom detached house in the Whitchurch area of the capital. That may have more space, but you won’t be able to wake up to the sight of Tenby Harbour.
