Liverpool forward Diogo Jota admitted it is difficult to explain what happened when Manchester City took the lead at the start of the second half before scoring two further goals to complete a 4-1 victory.
It was Jota running onto a Trent Alexander-Arnold through ball that got Liverpool in behind the City backline and allowed the 26-year-old international time to hold off Manuel Akanji to set up Mohamed Salah for the opening goal of the game. Julian Alvarez equalised inside ten minutes after being assisted by Jack Grealish to restore parity heading into half-time.
In what the Portugal international has dubbed the decisive moment, Kevin De Bruyne converted a Riyad Mahrez cross inside a minute of action resuming before Ilkay Gundogan fired in a third seven minutes later. Jota has since attempted to explain what went wrong.

"The decisive moment was the beginning of the second half when they scored two goals very quickly and swung the balance in their favour," the Liverpool forward told Viaplay after the match. "We scored first, we could've managed the game better, it is what it is, and with that second half, we let them take the game and the three points.
"It's hard to explain, even in the second goal, I believe we won the ball, so we pressed well, but we lost the ball straight away, and they found us unbalanced, and they were able to score. At this stage of the season, when we concede first, the team is disbelieving in what we do, then they are fighting for the title, full of confidence, and built the result on that."
