The stunning Cheshire woodland walk an hour from Liverpool that's perfect for all seasons

I love getting out in nature and going for long walks to explore new places. In my opinion, you can't beat enjoying some fresh air while taking in some stunning views.

One of my favourite places to visit is Marbury Country Park in the Cheshire town of Northwich, which is around an hour's drive away from Liverpool. The park is at the heart of the Northwich Woodlands and offers visitors the chance to explore a historical landscape which provides a window into its grand history.

Formerly a manor house, the historic feel of the park is still evident today through its raised terraces and stone walls. What I love about Marbury Park is its abundance of woodlands - you are spoilt for choice in terms of stunning views and natural features.

The park is also home to many species of wildlife, ranging from birds and insects to bats and squirrels, making it a good choice for nature lovers. Whatever time of year you visit, you are sure to be met with beautiful scenery.

Exploring the park is easy with a good network of paths to follow, all boasting impressive views across Budworth Mere. Those looking to make a day of their visit can enjoy a picnic at one of the many spots on offer, while children can let off steam in the play area. During the summer months, you can sometimes find an ice cream truck at the park, too.

Marbury Country Park, Northwich (Google Street View)

Marbury Country Park is well ranked on TripAdvisor, with an average user rating of 4.5/5. One happy visitor described the site as an "amazing place" and wrote: "So many varied places to walk; through the woods, by the mere or canal, open fields, along the old disused road. Lots of space to have picnics with the family."

Travelling to the park by car is easy, with Marbury Country Park signposted from Northwich town centre and Junction 10 of the M56. Car parking is available within close walking distance.

If you're looking for a beautiful place to unwind and enjoy all of the tranquillity of nature, then you'll definitely find it at Marbury Country Park.
