'Everyone was freaked out' says student
15:34 , Megan HoweAkarsh Jain, an estates management student at King's said students were "shaken up" by the crash.
"I was in the college and I heard that there was some incident going on, and everyone was freaked out.
“It's so strange because you're not allowed to enter the campus with a van, it must have come from the opposite direction because the way the van entered normal cars, even the access cars can't [come that way].
“It's absolutely shocking.
“We were all getting the screenshots and pictures saying there's an accident ... the classes are still going on but people have a big shift and they're not able to focus on their academics for the day because there's messages on every group saying this is going on."

'It raises a lot of questions', student says
14:08 , Megan HoweOur reporter Josh Salisbury spoke to Giangiacomo, a 20-year-old economics student at King's, who arrived at the scene as emergency services were helping the injured.
He told the Standard how he saw two or three bodies lying on the floor and paramedics attempting to give CPR to one of those injured.
“I saw all of these cars, police ambulance, fire, there was about 20 of them. And it was a bit cordoned off and you see could see everything,” he said.
“There were at least two if not three people on the floor, one being reanimated, being given CPR. No one knew what happened and later the news came out that it was a van crashing into them on the street.”
Giangiacomo said the incident raises a lot of questions “because vans, cars, are not supposed to be on that side of the square because they usually pass on the right side”.
“I can't say if it's intentional or not but it's very weird,” he added.
“It's hard on everyone because we all sit on those benches, have lunch, it's a pedestrian area. So it not being safe for us is quite difficult, quite scary.”
'I was disorientated, I thought it was a protest', PHD student says
14:01 , Megan HoweAli, a PhD student at King's College London, who did not wish to share his surname, was leaving class when he saw emergency services gathered near the scene.
The 28-year-old said he initially thought emergency services were there for a protest outside the university, until he saw ambulance workers carrying stretchers.
"I was just walking out of class... at first I was disoriented, I thought it was a protest because it usually happens, but it's something else entirely," he said.
"(Now knowing a woman has died) it is so sad and hard to process - my thoughts go out to her family and friends.
"We walk by that crossing all the time and it's pedestrianised, barely any vehicles pass."
