Getting a stain on your sofa can be a nightmare, even if no one else notices it the chances are you will.
Getting a sofa professionally cleaned can cost a fair amount too, so isn't realistic in a household where your sofa may get stained a lot - whether it be due to pets or kids.
Thankfully, one cleaning ace has revealed a home sofa scrubbing method using laundry detergent that she says gets rid of stains easily on social media. Posting under the username @lauracleanaholic, the TikToker shared the trick to her more than 230,000 followers.
Laura starts: "Is your sofa in need of a deep clean?
"I simply use a cap full of liquid laundry detergent in warm water and scrub. We've got two dogs and this works a treat."
You can see the post-scrub sofa which looks absolutely spotless thanks to the stain-removing trick, as well as a thorough hoover on the rest of the sofa.
Laura finishes off by saying: "Why not give it a try?"
She does point out in the comments that this should be used to get rid of stains and shouldn't be used for the whole sofa, as it could remove flame retardant coating.
She also reminds viewers to use laundry detergent and not fabric conditioner.
She says: "I recommend only doing this on small sections to remove any stains. Never soak the fabric and do not use fabric conditioner to do this."
The video she posted received more than 490,000 views and was liked by 8,000 people. Viewers took note of the trick with one commenting: "I have this sofa and I’ve always been so worried that any products would mess up the material x".
A second viewer said: "Going to try this", while a third claimed they would be getting a hold of some detergent for the trick, saying : "I will be ordering these".
