It's the weight loss programme that sees real results for its members, who can enjoy the food they love while losing weight and keeping it off with the network of support.
It focuses on healthy foods (which you can eat without counting or setting limits, such as lean meat, eggs, fish, potatoes and vegetagbles), more exercise by making activity a part of your daily routine; and joining fellow Slimming World members in ongoing support. And it's made a real difference to so many lives, like Mike Smith who was once so overweight that he couldn't have a bath but lost a staggering 15-and-a-half stone in just seven months, or Zoe Langham who went from 'morbidly obese' to an astonishing transformation after losing seven stone.
Fans share their own recipes too, like this easy pasta bake recipe shared by Slimming World Mum Jessica Cadman, a mum to three boys who has gained a following on Instagram and Facebook for sharing her five stone weight loss journey with Slimming World.
And one of those Slimming World recipes that's a huge hit is the Burger in a Bowl recipe, which fans are saying tastes just like a McDonald's Big Mac. And once you've done the prep, like chopping onions and shredding lettuce, it's essentially just a three-step recipe, so it's super simple too. You can see the full recipe here.
Once you've got all your ingredients, which, again, you can find at the full recipe page here, all you have to do is:
- Spray a large, heavy-based non-stick frying pan with low-calorie cooking spray and place over a high heat. Add the beef, onion and garlic and stir-fry for 7-8 minutes, or until the beef is cooked through and the onions have softened. Take the pan off the heat and drain any fat from the mixture. Season lightly.
- Meanwhile, put all the SW super sauce ingredients in a bowl with 4 tbsp water and whisk until well combined.
- Mix together the lettuce, gherkins, onions and tomatoes and divide between 4 wide bowls. Spoon the beef mixture on top, divide the SW super sauce between the burgers and serve hot.
