Tottenham are going to find themselves rather light at left wing-back over the next few weeks as Ben Davies is now set for a spell on the sidelines. Starting in last Saturday's 3-3 draw at Southampton, the Wales international went to ground ten minutes before the break with a hamstring problem and had to be substituted.
Forced out of the Wales squad for their Euro 2024 qualifiers as a result, football.london understands that the long-serving player will be out for between four to six weeks due to the issue. As it could take six weeks for the injury to fully heal, Davies could miss some crunch games when it comes to the top-four race.
As Antonio Conte made it clear prior to the trip to St Mary's that Ryan Sessegnon won't be ready to return to action immediately after the international break as he recovers from the hamstring injury that has kept him out since early February, it leaves Ivan Perisic as the only fit left wing-back at present.

One other option would be to shift Emerson Royal over to the left as January signing Pedro Porro has started and performed very well on the right flank in Tottenham's last two league games.
So what games will Davies miss out on over the coming weeks as Tottenham look to secure a top-four berth? If it is to be a four-week absence from the day he picked up the injury, the ex-Swansea City man will sit out the away trip to Everton and then the home fixture against Brighton & Hove Albion six days later. The following week when they host Bournemouth would be four weeks since the injury, thus meaning he could potentially return to face the Cherries.
A further couple of weeks in the treatment room would then see the 29-year-old sit out Tottenham's crunch fixtures at the end of April as they host Manchester United either side of away games at Newcastle United and Liverpool. The game at Anfield would be six weeks on from the Southampton match, which could potentially hand Spurs a boost for their trip to Merseyside if he is to return then instead of the games leading up to the encounter.
Tottenham will then finish the campaign with matches against Crystal Palace, Aston Villa, Brentford and Leeds United in May. An important part of the backline as he can operate in the back three or at left wing-back, Spurs will be hoping that Davies is back sooner rather than later.
