The Simpsons has predicted the future once again as a joke made in an episode nearly thirty years ago is set to become reality. The animated sitcom has become known for predicting real-life events years before they happen, notably predicting Donald Trump’s presidency 16 years before he entered the White House.
Now it appears the long-running show is at it again, after it made a joke involving hip hop group Cypress Hill 27 years ago. In the 1996 episode Homerpalooza – released during the show’s seventh season – Homer Simpson takes his children Bart and Lisa to a music festival after learning music from his youth is no longer considered cool.
After getting hired for the festival’s freak show thanks to his ability to absorb cannon fire, Homer ends up partying with several real-life rock stars including Sonic Youth, The Smashing Pumpkins and Cypress Hill. In one scene, a festival crew member enters a room to ask who ordered the London Symphony Orchestra.

He adds that the culprit may have done so “possibly while high”, before singling out Cypress Hill, who are known for their marijuana-inspired songs. The group huddle together, with one of them whispering: “Hey man, did we order an orchestra?”
Another asks: “What’s up with this orchestra man? Where did this orchestra come from?”
They then turn and one says: “Yeah we think we did.”

He then asks the orchestra if they know to play their hit 1993 single Insane in the Brain, to which a violinist replies: “We mostly know classical, but we could give it a shot.”

The track then plays as Cypress Hill dance to the beat and the orchestra join in with a classical arrangement in the background.
The clip was shared by Simpsons fan page The Simpsons Clips on Instagram, prompting many fans to demand a real-life version.
Maggibrurr said: “Classic! We need the full version of this now!!”
Dj_flash 87 echoed: “Come on already and release a full version of this!”
Tattooedredhead added: “I would pay real money to see the London Symphony Orchestra play with Cypress Hill, live.”
Cypress Hill then appeared in the comments section to reveal the comical scene will soon come to life.
“July in Denver with the Colorado symphony we are playing Black Sunday in its entirety to celebrate the 30 yr anniversary. After that we plan to make the gig with the London Symphony a reality,” they wrote.
“Salute to The Simpsons for birthing the idea.”
Fans couldn’t believe their luck after the unexpected confirmation from the band, with many leaving a series of fire and clapping emojis and one fan hailing the group as “legends.”
