Sex and the City star Kim Cattrall snubbed her initial return to the spin-off series but is sensationally set to make a return to And Just Like That.
It's recently been revealed that Kim would return for a single "cliffhanger" scene in the upcoming series despite her long-running feud with co-star Sarah Jessica Parker.
Despite joining the show, Kim, who'll reprise her role as Samantha, won't see or even speak to any of her co-stars Cynthia Nixon, SJP or Kristen Davis while filming her scene.
It's said that Samantha will be seen moving into her home in London and talking to Sarah's character Carrie over the phone.
While the move will stun fans, some are wondering why the two fan-favourites from the show no longer get along. Below, The Mirror dives into their feud.
Pay differences
It was discovered that SJP was being paid a large sum more than her co-stars.
Four years after the first series was completed, it was said that Kim was furious over Sarah's executive producer title in the second season, which increased her salary to $300,000.
After learning this, Kim tried to negotiate a higher salary for herself which left her excluded from the other stars.
Speaking about the pay difference, Kim said: "I felt after six years, it was time for all of us to participate in the financial windfall of Sex and the City...
On her friendship with the other stars, Kim told Piers Morgan: "We've never been friends - we've been colleagues. And in some ways that's a very healthy place to be, as you have a clear line between your professional life, and your personal, too."
Instagram blast
Shortly after the devastating and shocking death of her brother Chris in 2018, Kim sent out a message to her fans and fellow SATC stars for their support.
She then seemingly hit out at Sarah, writing: "My Mom asked me today 'When will that, that hypocrite, leave you alone?' Your continuous reaching out is a painful reminder of how cruel you really were then and now...
"Let me make this VERY clear. (If I haven't already) You are not my family. You are not my friend.
"So I'm writing to tell you one last time to stop exploiting our tragedy in order to restore your 'nice girl' persona'" Kim added.
'It's a no' ... on SATC return
When the first season of the spin-off show ran for it's first ten seasons, many fans queried whether Kim would be making a return at all. after the idea of her being in the first season was shut down.
In 2019, HBO's chief content officer, Casey Bloys, reflected on Samantha's exit, saying: "Just as in real life, people come into your life, people leave. Friendships fade and new friendships start."
Around the same time, Kim shared her thoughts on declining her return: "It's a 'no' from me. You learn lessons in life and my lesson is to do work with good people and try and make it fun."
However, Sarah has claimed that she didn't;'t want Kim to come back to the show.
"There's just too much public history of feelings on her part that she's shared. I haven't participated in or read articles, although people are inclined to let me know, " she told Variety.
"We didn't go to Kim for this, you know," Sarah added "After we didn't do the movie and the studio couldn't meet what she wanted to do, we have to hear her and listen to her and what was important to her."
