The Severance season two finale is finally arriving on Friday, and it’s all I can think about.
While the previous episode was a teeny bit underwhelming and felt like the writers were setting up the end — seriously, did we need to see Ms Cobel, Mark and Devon just… stand around?? — I’m convinced it’s all going to be worth it.
The season one finale went down in history as one of the best season-enders ever, and I don’t want to get your expectations up sky-high, but some people reckon Friday’s episode will top that.
The first reviews have started popping up on X (formerly known as Twitter), and it sounds like not only are we finally going to get some much-needed answers, but the “masterpiece” is going to make us sob uncontrollably as well.
I’ve already planned on taking a sick day on Friday so I can fully devote my time and energy for Severance day (if my editor is reading this, no you’re not!!!), and it looks like I might need some tissues.

“The Severance season two season finale ‘Cold Harbor’ is one of the best episodes of TV in years. Season two climbs to one of the weirdest and most heartbreaking season-enders ever. Adam Scott is phenomenal, giving his strongest and most vulnerable performance yet,” one person wrote.
“If you thought the end of the Severance season one finale was tense, the season two finale beyond surpasses this! I was genuinely audibly reacting throughout the episode, it’s hands down one of the best hours of television on our screens and is incredibly satisfying,” another added.
“Just watched the Severance season two finale and it does something I’ve been waiting the whole show for,” a third teased.
“It’s not hyperbole when I say the season two finale of Severance is one of the best-crafted finales I’ve ever seen. I don’t think I’ve witnessed any other series pull for its past to culminate in such an effective way. We have witnessed a generational TV show be born,” another remarked.
FUCK ME SIDEWAYS I am simply blown away by #Severance finale. Tears wont stop. I am afraid there won't be a season 3 considering how it ends. No spoilers but damn….this episode got a 30-minute standing ovation by me (I was alone in my living room). pic.twitter.com/5s3liAUHgj

People keep asking if S2 finale is as good as S1. Yes it is. The weirdest episode of the show too. An insane experience #Severance pic.twitter.com/1SxxtB4LiZ

The only trailer we’ve had for the finale so far is a 10-second clip of a goat being wheeled in a trolley through Lumon’s white halls.
Seeing as we’ve been told repeatedly that we WILL find out more about the goats and why there’s such thing as a Mammalians Nurturable Department, it’s likely we’re getting a big reveal.

The finale is 76 minutes long, so there’s plenty of time for Severance to share both answers and let’s be honest, probably a ton of new questions as well.
Last week’s episode saw Ms Cobel (Patricia Arquette) team up with Mark (Adam Scott) and Devon (Jen Tullock) to try and save Gemma (Dichen Lachman) from Lumon’s testing floor, while Helly (Britt Lower) is using Irving’s (John Turturro) directions to try and find her way to that elevator.

Friday can’t come soon enough! Let’s just hope that we don’t have to wait three more years for season three.
The Severance season two finale will air on Friday, 21 March, on Apple TV+.
