The seven transfers Arsenal must complete after Declan Rice and Jurrien Timber deals

Arsenal have made incredible moves in the transfer window so far and Mikel Arteta isn't expected to stop improving his squad.

Kai Havertz completed his £65 million transfer from London rivals Chelsea this week, becoming the Gunners' first signing of the summer. Progress is also being made in signing Declan Rice and Jurrien Timber, with both deals advancing towards completion with agreeing personal terms set to be straightforward.

The North Londoners will challenge for the Premier League and UEFA Champions League next season, meaning Edu Gaspar has been tasked with the mammoth task of bettering the last season's second-placed finish last campaign.

As well as Rice and Timber, Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia and Brighton's Moises Caicedo continue to be on Arsenal's radar. However, any additional business that is on the club's agenda will only happen if players leave the club.

There's a big number of players expected to leave the Gunners when the transfer window closes in September. football.london understands USMNT international Auston Trusty will leave the club on a permanent deal after impressing on loan with Birmingham City.

Fellow American Folarin Balogun is also facing the exit door. The 21-year-old enjoyed a superb season in France with Stade Reims, scoring 21 goals in Ligue 1. A host of teams are tracking his situation, with AC Milan, Napoli, Marseille, AS Monaco and West Ham all registering their interest, though the Gunners are said to be demanding £50m to sell the player.

Current club-record signing Nicolas Pepe is no longer part of Mikel Arteta's plans after being allowed to leave last summer on loan. The Ivorian has just one year left on his current deal and Arsenal's preferred preference is to recoup some of the £72m they paid for him though the option to terminate his contract has been considered, football.london understands.

Regular members of Arteta’s team in Granit Xhaka and Thomas Partey have both been linked with exits. Xhaka has been on the verge of sealing a move to Bayer Leverkusen since before the season ended while Partey is wanted by three Saudi Arabian clubs and Juventus.

Partey's future is more unclear than Xhaka's, with no formal bid made for the Ghana international as of yet.

Defensive duo Cedric Soares and Rob Holding are also facing uncertain futures in north London. Timber's impending arrival from Ajax places them both further down Arteta's pecking order and have been linked with low-ball summer transfers.
