New research on the best location in Scotland for a night out has named one city top - and it's not Glasgow.
It's Edinburgh that has been named top according to research by Get Licensed, with the capital coming fourth in the table for the whole of the UK.
With its high number of clubs, bars and pubs, reasonable beer prices and relatively low crime and fear of crime stats, Edinburgh finished above the likes of Aberdeen, Dundee and Glasgow. It was also highest for the number of pubs per 100,000 citizens too.
Aberdeen had the cheapest average pint price at £2.84 and finished in 10th overall on the top 50 UK wide, while Dundee came in 22nd, and Glasgow, which is known for its nightlife coming in way back in 29th.
A Get Licensed spokesperson said: “British towns and cities vary wildly when it comes to safety.
“While all of the best nightlife venues have ample staff and door supervisors, all with the appropriate training and SIA licences, safety is still an important factor that many of us consider when planning a night out in town.”
