There are lots of activities in and around Greater Manchester you can do with the kids this February half term. From dinosaur walks to petting zoos, there’s something for whatever your little one is interested in.
Nestled in the Cheshire countryside just outside of Greater Manchester is Tatton Park, which is hosting several activities for kids this week. Among those are its annual Scarecrow Festival, which has returned for another year and it’s taking place throughout the February half term.
It features dozens of scarecrows spread across the 50 acre gardens and the farm. The theme this year is Kings and Queens - and not just traditional ones as there’s even a nod to an I’m A Celebrity winner.

The scarecrows are all beautifully made and kids will love to spot all the different famous faces. There’s also the chance to meet Aunty Mary and the miller and hear them tell their tales at weekends down the farm.
As well as the scarecrow trail, Tatton Park continues to run its Winter Wildlife Garden Trail (open until March 19). The interactive trail invites little ones to discover what animals such as badgers and hedgehogs do during the winter.
For kids who need to blow off some steam there’s an adventure playground and den building area, while there’s also heritage buildings to be discovered.
