The Rolling Stones perform at Anfield this week as part of their huge SIXTY tour.
Celebrating 60 years in the music industry, The Rolling Stones are performing across Europe in cities including Madrid, Amsterdam and Vienna. This Thursday’s gig in Liverpool will be the band’s first UK date on the tour, with them performing in London’s Hyde Park later this month.
Thousands of ticket holders will be going to see The Rolling Stones at Liverpool’s home ground this week, with the gates opening at 4pm on Thursday, June 9. Last month it was announced that Liverpool band Echo & The Bunnymen will support them at their one off Anfield concert.

The event will be the first time the Stones have played in Liverpool since 1971 and the evening will see Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood celebrating 60 years as a band. Following the death of The Rolling Stones ’ drummer Charlie Watts last August, they will be joined on stage by Steve Jordan and fans can expect to hear a set list packed with the band’s classics, including ‘Gimme Shelter’, ‘Paint It Black’, ‘Jumpin’ Jack Flash’, ‘Tumbling Dice’, ‘(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction’, ‘Start Me Up’ and many more.
This week, ticket holders were sent an email warning them of ‘important event information’ to be aware of when attending the stadium. The email informed gig goers that Anfield operates a ‘no bag policy’ and reminded them that there is no bag storage facility.
Bags are not permitted in the stadium except for purchases from official show merchandise in clear plastic bags provided. Ticket holders were also reminded that Anfield Stadium is a cashless venue and that means all bars, kiosks and food outlets around the stadium (internal and external) are cashless.
