Greg Talyor and Kieran Tierney have dominated the Celtic-facing headlines over the last several days for similar yet distinctly different reasons.
Greg Taylor, of course, is the club's current left-back and has been since 2019. He's into the final stretch of his contract, and unless both the player and the club can agree new terms on a new deal, the 27-year-old will leave for free this summer.
Kieran Tierney, of course, is Celtic's former left-back – a fan favourite who swapped Glasgow's east end for Arsenal in the summer of 2019. Now well down Mikel Arteta's pecking order at the Emirates, it's been reported Tierney could return to Celtic during the January transfer window.
The perceivable hold-up in Taylor's contract talks appears to be down to wage demands, which the Daily Mail suggests is in the region of £25,000 per week, a figure that would maybe Taylor one of the first-team's higher-earning stars.
Tierney, on the other hand, is reportedly earning over £100k per week at Arsenal, but, again according to the Daily Mail, is expected to take a significant pay cut down to £35k per week should he return to Celtic.

Yesterday (Tuesday, January 7) The Athletic's David Ornstein said Arsenal have not received any form of formal approach for Tierney in the current transfer window, however Celtic have enquired about the player who, like Taylor, will be available for free in the summer.
On Taylor's situation, Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers said this in his pre-match press conference ahead of Dundee United this evening: "Well, you always want [to resolve contract details] ideally but I am sure Greg does as well.
"I think between the club and he and his representatives, they will find a solution to it I am sure, either way. In the meantime, I am here to support him and his performance level."
