The Refuge is planning a Jubilee courtyard street party

The Refuge is planning to mark the Queen’s Jubilee weekend with a street party in its courtyard terrace. The all-day bank holiday event will happen on June 3, kicking off from 1pm with a host of DJs.

Playing through the day from 2pm in the venue’s open-air spot will be Andrea Trout's Eves'Drop Collective, vocalist Yemi Bolatiwa & The Soul Carousel, Ms. Puerto Rico, the Lovescene DJs and 2 Left Feet crew, before Worldwide FM’s Mikey D.O.N. takes over for the final set up to 10pm.

Then from 10pm, the action moves indoors to the main bar area of the Refuge until closing time at midnight, with DJ Pasta Paul from 5pm to 8pm, and David Dunne from 8pm until closing. The first part of the day is ticketed until 5pm, with a price tag of £25.

For that, there will be a specially devised Jubilee cocktail on arrival - the Crown Jewel - comprising Earl Grey tea, Beefeater gin, lavender, and lemon topped with prosecco, and food including coronation chicken or jackfruit tacos, pork and kimchi sausage rolls, mushroom and truffle vol-au-vents.

There will also be a ‘Refuge take on classic cakes’ being served up later. The most handsome venue in town will then open to the public and non-ticket holders from 5pm onwards.
