Not signing Newcastle United star Bruno Guimaraes in January looks to be the latest transfer regret for Arsenal. The Gunners have lost their last three Premier League outings, with injured midfielder Thomas Partey clearly hugely missed in the middle of the park. That slump in form has seen Mikel Arteta 's side slide down to sixth in the Premier League table having been sitting pretty in fourth just a few weeks ago.
A large section of the club's fanbase have been blaming technical director Edu for their recent downturn in form, with the Brazilian transfer chief opting to not make any first-team additions during the winter window - something that has clearly cost the north Londoners in the last few weeks.
Tough-tackling midfielder Guimaraes was one player heavily linked with a switch to the Emirates Stadium before he eventually joined the Magpies instead.

Now, Newcastle transfer expert Luke Edwards of The Telegraph has revealed why Arsenal were unable to compete with the Tyneside-based club for the 24-year-old's signature at the time. “Bruno’s advisors were aware of interest from the likes of Arsenal and Juventus and there had been informal conversations", Edwards wrote.
"But they, like all his other suitors, did not have the money to spend in January. Newcastle did. This was crucial. Everyone else wanted to wait until the summer. When Newcastle pushed hard enough on the door, it opened.
"It was too much to turn down and personal terms were also swiftly thrashed." Signing Guimaraes was a huge coup for Eddie Howe and Co and the Brazilian international has already proved a huge hit at St. James' Park.
In fact, the talented playmaker netted a brace on Sunday as Howe's side secured an injury-time winter to defeat Leicester City 2-1 on Sunday afternoon.
