Football superstar Paul Pogba could be at Dumbarton before the season’s out.
The Sons haven’t been taken over by a new billionaire owner.
And the French superstar isn’t being farmed out on loan to The Rock by Manchester United due to his patchy form.
But he might just turn up at a Scottish League One game soon to see pal and body double Josh Oyinsan in action.
It sounds preposterous yet it could happen.
In fact, if Pogba’s next hairstyle happens to be black and yellow, it could well be a nod to Stevie Farrell’s side.
Oyinsan was signed by Dumbarton in January from English non-league outfit Eastbourne Borough and scored on his debut against East Fife.
He’s already a hit with Sons fans. But the adulation he gets is nothing compared to the £90million man at Old Trafford he now calls a friend.
Oyinsan works alongside Pogba for adidas and some of the biggest brands in the world, doing television promos and photoshoots.
They’ve recently done a Pepsi advert and, before the World Cup in Qatar later this year, he’ll travel the globe standing in for the United midfielder.
It’s a different world from plying his trade against the likes of Montrose and Peterhead.
But the 27-year-old is loving life in the SPFL and says he’s planning to invite Pogba to a Sons game.
Oyinsan has revealed how he got the job by accident and why it hurts whenever he hears the
Frenchman getting flak from fans or pundits.
He told MailSport : “Paul is the most misunderstood person I’ve ever met.
“Sometimes I feel so bad when I hear the criticism he gets at Manchester United.
“When you meet someone, you realise what they’re really like.
“It’s not just about how he treats me. I’ve seen how he interacts with other people.
“When we’re on set together, he acts the same with the tea lady and runners as he does with film directors.
“They’re people he might not be expected to pay much attention to but he’s so welcoming and friendly with them.
“He meets and speaks to everyone. He’s just a proper, good person and a family man.
“Of course, he’s a confident guy.
“But if you want to play at that level, you’ve got to back yourself.
“I get to see a side to him that most people don’t get to see.”
If he hadn’t tagged along with a mate to a casting six years ago, Oyinsan would never have met World Cup winner Pogba.
When they first got together at Manchester United’s training ground, the former Kettering, Braintree and St Albans striker was a bag of nerves.
But that quickly changed. He said: “It’s a bizarre story because it happened by accident.
“A friend was looking to get into modelling but I had no idea about it – I just said I’d go along with him.
“At that time Paul was still at Juventus.
“We did this casting and my friend has got a few jobs from it.
“But a year later, a few days before Paul signed for Manchester United, I just got a call out of the blue.
“They said I was needed for a shoot at Carrington (United’s training ground). By that time, I could barely remember doing the casting so I thought it was a prank call.
“I asked more questions and soon realised it was real. I even had to sign a disclosure form because no one knew about the
transfer at that time.
“For the reveal, they needed a body-double so I said I’d do it. I phoned my parents and had to swear them to secrecy!
“It was only afterwards that I could tell my friends.
“I was nervous the first time I met Paul. I didn’t know what to expect.
“But when we were introduced I felt relaxed because he’s such a cool guy.
“A few times when we were chatting, I did have to pinch myself and say: ‘This is Paul Pogba.’
“He was the world’s record transfer and sitting right in front of me, talking away. It was crazy.”
The job of being Pogba’s body-double sounds like a fantasy. But Oyinsan takes it seriously and gives it his all.
He’s constantly watching the Manchester United man for different hair styles and trends.
Football will always be his passion. But the Dumbarton frontman says he would love to keep working with Pogba even when they’ve both hung up their boots.
He said: “We’ve done a lot together now. I’ve probably worked on 95 per cent of the adverts Paul has done so we’ve become good friends.
“We talk about football and he gives me advice, which is invaluable.
“We’ve done a few ads for Pepsi recently, one of them just dropped.
“And we’ve got other stuff coming up in the run up to the World Cup.
“It’s something I enjoy doing outside of football and hopefully I can continue when I stop playing.
“I’ve dipped my toe in the water with a lot of things and they don’t stick with me.
“But this is something I like doing and it’s great to be around guys like Paul.
“It can get quite technical as well. Sometimes his hairstyles are very out there.
“So I’ve got to watch him and make sure my hair is staying at his length. If he’s not cutting his hair, I won’t cut mine.
“That helps me with the shoots. I genuinely enjoy the job.
“Obviously, my love for football is No.1 – but this comes next.
“Paul will continue to work after playing.
“He’s a bit like David Beckham. He’ll still be very marketable for these brands even when he retires from the game.”
And Pogba could yet turn up at the Rock. Oyinsan said: “Before the end of the season, I might message him to see if he fancies coming to Dumbarton for a game.
“It would be great for the fans to see him here.”
