A few weeks ago, USC ran what was a beautiful trick play. It was a delayed flea flicker where Caleb Williams handed off to the receiver in motion, who then pitched it back to the quarterback. Williams launched it deep to his wideout and the result was a 41-yard touchdown down the left sideline.
For those watching the Rams-Seahawks game on Sunday, Los Angeles ran a play that looked similar. Only, the result was very, very different.
Matthew Stafford handed off to Tutu Atwell, who hesitated for a moment and tossed it back to Stafford. With a defender running straight toward him, Stafford launched deep to Austin Trammell, but the pass was intercepted by Tariq Woolen.
To make matters worse, Stafford got drilled in the stomach and was shaken up after the play.
Riq Woolen sniffs out the trick play and gets an INT!
