We’re now just tonight’s game away from being through three weeks of the 2022 NFL season and while there are still a lot of question marks out there one thing is for the sure – the winless Las Vegas Raiders are the most disappointing team in football and it’s not even close.
The Raiders, of course went to the playoffs last year and then made a lot of noise in the offseason by hiring former New England Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels to be their head coach.
Then they were able to land Aaron Rodgers’ favorite target, the great Davante Adams, in a trade with the Packers.
So yeah, expectations were high coming into this season, even if the Raiders play in one of the toughest divisions in football.
Those expectations so far haven’t come close to being reached, however, The Raiders kicked off the season with a loss on the road to the Chargers.
Then they choked away a late lead at home to the Cardinals in Week 2 in which they allowed Kyler Murray to pull off some insane plays in the final minutes.
And yesterday they looked listless for most of the afternoon in their loss to the previously winless Titans in Tennessee. That’s just a game you just can’t lose. I know it was on the road but the Titans were coming off a blowout loss to the Bills and their offense just doesn’t have a ton of weapons. Yet the Titans were able to take a 24-10 lead into halftime and then held on for the 24-22 win.
The only thing going for the Raiders this morning is that the Chiefs and Chargers both lost yesterday, so they didn’t lose even more ground to other teams in the AFC West. The Broncos did beat the 49ers in the worst game ever to improve to 2-1 but let’s be honest – the Broncos are a terrible 2-1 team.
The Raiders, though, are a disappointing 0-3 team and will need to take care of business at home next Sunday against those bad Broncos or their season could be all but over well before Halloween.
