The Queen's Funeral: Update issued as Hillsborough Castle park and ride finishes

Park and ride services are no longer available at Hillsborough Castle.

The public are now able to access the gardens via the main carpark off the A1.

Gardens will remain open to the public for quiet reflection until Sunday, September 18 following the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

Hillsborough Castle and Gardens said: "Transport update for Hillsborough Castle. Our gardens are now open free of charge until Sunday 18 September for quiet reflection.

"Access for the public is via the main carpark off the A1 as well as the main village entrance. Park and ride services are no longer available."

A Translink spokesperson said: "Translink is advising anyone travelling to Royal Hillsborough that normal passenger services will resume again from Thursday 15th September 2022.

"Special shuttle bus services from the Eikon Centre Park & Ride and Lisburn Train Station will finish at 8pm (September 14). Enterprise services will no longer include a stop in Lisburn.

"Visit www.translink.co.uk or call 028 90 66 66 30 to plan your journey and follow @Translink_NI for the latest travel updates.

"For any further information about official proceedings during the Period of Mourning visit www.nio.gov.uk ."
