The Queen reveals her real thoughts about Trooping of Colour

The Queen has revealed what she really thinks about the Trooping the Colour as the country celebrates Her Majesty's official birthday.

The Royal Family were out in full force in London today to mark the monarch's 93rd birthday.

At the end of a procession that had the Royal Highness parade down the Mall to Buckingham Palace flanked by an escort from the Household Cavalry, the Windsors watched the Red Arrows flying over head.

Prince Louis stole the show when he waved to the crowds on his first royal engagement.

Along with siblings Prince George and Princess Charlotte the 13-month-old tot clapped as the Red Arrows performed their fly past.

Lip reading experts Tamara Cunningham and Katie Ellel kept a beady eye on the royals as they watched the proceedings from Buckingham Palace.

As the Red Arrows began their approach down the Mall the Queen said: "Isn't this lovely."

Her enthusiasm was matched by the younger members of the family.

Prince William told his second son to keep his eyes up before asking Prince George whether he could see the planes.

The Duchess of Cambridge enthusiastically told her three children to wave to the crowds and gasped a delighted "wow" as the iconic airplanes trailed a blanket of smoke in the British colours behind them.

"Wave at the helicopters, wave there, yeah wave!" Kate enthused to the princes and princess.

Addressing his oldest son, Prince William added: "It’s very windy there. Try and look up, okay? Good chap.

"Let’s wave. I wonder where mine is."

While most people might be a little overwhelmed if nine fighter jets were chartered especially for their birthday, the Queen kept it cool.

"Love those," she said simply as the planes passed.
