An insider to the Royal Family has accused Prince Harry of being "breath-takingly arrogant" after he spoke on a US TV show, and stated that he wanted to see the monarchy "protected".
The Duke of Sussex chatted with NBC TV host Hoda Kotb and the discussion was broadcasted on US morning programme Today, the Daily Record reports.
In the segment, Harry noted that he wanted to make sure that the Queen has the "right people" around her in order to "protect" her.

He noted that it was lovely to be around his family again, but insists that America is now his "home" - at the moment.
He said: "It was great, it was really nice to see her in some element of privacy, which was nice.
"I haven't had a chance to go back to the UK for a couple a years apart from those times, once for my grandfather's funeral and once for unveiling a statue of my mum.
"Being with her, it was great.
"It was just so nice to see her … She’s on great form. She's always got a great sense of humour with me and I'm just making sure she's protected and got the right people around her."
But now, a royal insider has stated they were shocked by what they felt was "breath-taking arrogance" in the interview.
A Royal source spoke to the Daily Mail, stating: "It is the Queen's birthday and despite a difficult year people are working full steam ahead on making her Platinum Jubilee an event to remember that properly honours such a remarkable woman.
"She just doesn't deserve this.
"I have no idea what intention he may or may not have had in saying this, but Harry needs to start thinking before he opens his mouth."
Harry also spoke about feeling at home in America, adding: "You know, home — home for me, now, is you know, for the time being, is in the states.
"We've been welcomed with open arms and it's got such a great community up in Santa Barbara."
Harry and Meghan met with the Queen at Windsor Castle last week on a secret stop-off before the Invictus Games in the Netherlands.
They also saw Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall in a closely-guarded visit to Windsor Castle.
However they did not meet Prince William, who is believed to have been on a skiing holiday in the French Alps last week with wife Kate and their three children – although they were aware of Harry and Meghan’s visit.
