While previewing next week’s Thursday Night Football game, Amazon inadvertently roasted the current state of the New England Patriots.
The graphic the company chose to promote the game features Pittsburgh Steelers outside linebacker T.J. Watt… and Patriots coach Bill Belichick. No, not a quarterback or a wide receiver or anyone on defense. Just Belichick.
This is just not something you’re used to seeing, as these types of promos always feature two recognizable players to get general fans interested in watching the game.
This graphic basically admits Belichick is the most notable person to represent a struggling New England team. That’s brutal.
Amazon had no idea which #Patriots player to feature on the promo for next week… so they just put Bill Belichick.
Have never seen something like this before😂 pic.twitter.com/dHLvcCGPJ2

While the Patriots have players that normal fans would recognize like wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster and safety Jabrill Peppers, they really don’t have any major league stars on the roster to advertise a nationally televised game.
The team is also likely benching quarterback Mac Jones, which takes away another name that casual fans at home would recognize.
The Patriots just lost a Monday Night Football game next month to the flex system, and Belichick could be on the hot seat in what’s been his worst season on the sideline in New England in more than two decades.
The 2-9 Patriots are one of the worst teams in the NFL. Even Peppers admits the team isn’t very good right now. With Belichick now the marquee name with the franchise, the Patriots need a big talent infusion… and fast.
NFL fans had plenty of thoughts on this.
