Two new Champions are preparing to make their presence felt in The Battlerealm. The Patriot arrives to Marvel Contest of Champions this July 18. Meanwhile, The Leader officially becomes part of the roster starting August 1.

Who are these new Champions? Let's start with Eli Bradley, who's been known to be both the best and worst of his country. His grandfather Isaiah was actually one of the very first Super Soldiers and it is this kind of warrior for liberty that little boys dream of becoming. However, Isaiah's powers were a result of brutal experiments which had also resulted in the death of a lot of his peers. His work meanwhile was something that the country he served considered a shameful secret.

Because of this, Eli learned from a young age that service is never simple. Despite that, he continued to have a feeling of deep need to make the world a better place. As a result, he co-founded the Young Avengers as Patriot. While he sometimes comes at odds with none other than Captain America and the Avengers, Eli has managed to earn their respect. In fact, he even took up Captain America's original shield with his blessing. Patriot continues to work and make his home into the better place it must become.

From Zero to Leader

From that rather inspiring background, we know go to the story of Samuel Sterns. He was once an average high school dropout and worked at a chemical plant. While working the night shift, there was a gamma explosion which resulted in him having that insatiable lust for knowledge. The gamma radiation had apparently given Sam a genius-level intellect. He has since used this intelligence to become The Leader, an evil mastermind and arch nemesis to the Hulk.

Spring of Sorrow Gauntlet

Aside from the new Champions, July also serves as the culmination of pain and sorrow. That means players are going to be asked to deal with not just all four previous fights but also two new ones. The only silver lining, if you can call it that, is there's a whole month to deal with everything. Of course, going through these encounters is not for the faint of heart since this can result in overcoming with sorrow.

Marvel Contest of Champions is available on Android and iOS.
