The stars of The Parent Trap are reuniting virtually to mark the film’s 22nd anniversary.
The 1998 Disney film starred Lindsay Lohan in the dual roles of Hallie and Annie, twins who are separated as babies when their parents split up, with one joining their mother Liz in London and the other living with their father Nick in California.
When they accidentally cross paths at summer camp years later, they hatch a plot to swap lives and bring their parents back together.
The special reunion will be streamed on US journalist and broadcaster Katie Couric’s Instagram account.
Couric, who will host the discussion, will be joined by director Nancy Meyers as well as Lohan and her on-screen father Dennis Quaid.
Elaine Hendrix, who played Nick’s scene-stealing younger love interest Meredith Blake, will also take part, as well as Lisa Ann Walter, who played Hallie and Nick’s housekeeper Chessy, and Simon Kunz, who starred as Annie and Liz’s butler Martin.
Writer and producer Charles Shyer will also join.
Sharing a clip from the reunion on Instagram, Meyers wrote: “Sorry for the mini delay but the Secret’s Out!
“@katiecouric and I got the PARENT TRAP cast back together for the first time since we made our movie. 'We had a blast.”
Couric added: “Boy, do @nmeyers and I have a treat for you! We got the cast of the Parent Trap together again for the first time since 1998.”
The former castmates are set to discuss their favourite moments from on set as well as sharing their memories of actress Natasha Richardson, who starred as the twins’ mother, who tragically died in 2009 at the age of 45 after a skiing accident.
The reunion will be broadcast at 9am Eastern Time (1pm GMT) today on Couric’s Instagram account.
