Warmer temperatures mean lots of people are looking for the ideal location to cool down and also enjoy a trip away. Here in the West Country, we are blessed with scores of beaches that are perfect for summer getaways.
But one beach, in particular, has caught the eye of potential tourists after being shared on TikTok. Porthmeor, based in St Ives, has been hailed as 'paradise', with many gobsmacked it's actually in England.
Boasting white sands, clear waters and incredible views, the spot is definitely worth the three-hour drive from Bristol. People can also jump on a train from Temple Meads to Penzance and get a bus for the final stint of the journey.
Sharing a video of the beach on TikTok, Kayley Suzanne wrote: "Paradise in the UK". Travel with Rafa also shared a clip of the beach, with the caption: "Can you believe this beach is in the UK?"
Another video showed a seal playing in the crystalline waters and swimming up to the shoreline, very close to paddlers.
TripAdvisor is full of reviewers praising the location, which was awarded 4.5 stars overall. One person said: "Great for surfers and body borders. Plenty of waves. We stayed overlooking this fabulous beach. Highly recommend."
Another penned: "Fabulous beach, lots of golden sand. Great for surfers and sunbathers. Handy location for cafes and the Tate of St Ives!"
A third wrote: "Had a lovely time, beautiful beach, lovely sand, great view. Does get busy but it is a town beach so people are coming and going. Nice cafe and good facilities. Very easy to pop into town for lunch."
