Another year at the NFL Draft, another year of the Green Bay Packers avoiding drafting a wide receiver in the first round.
During Thursday’s first round of the 2022 NFL Draft, the Packers were up to draft with the 22nd pick. Though a bunch of wide receivers were off the board by the time Green Bay’s pick rolled around, there was still an opportunity for the Packers to nab help for Aaron Rodgers on offense.
Instead, the Packers went full audible and went with… linebacker Quay Walker from Georgia? Yes, you read that right, the Packers once again passed on a wide receiver in the first round.

Not only that, the Packers skipped on a wide receiver again in the first round, taking Georgia defensive tackle Devonte Wyatt with pick No. 28.

Look, I get there was slim pickings for the Packers by the time their picks rolled around, but this team is terribly thin at wide receiver as is. Who is Rodgers supposed to throw to on offense this year? It’s a mystery, apparently!
As expected, NFL fans absolutely roasted the Packers for this left field pick.
