Arsenal's pursuit of Mykhailo Mudryk dominated headlines during the first two weeks of the January transfer window before the Ukrainian winger joined rivals Chelsea instead.
As recently as Friday, the Gunners were confident that a deal would get done but the Blues came in on Saturday evening with a better offer before unveiling their new signing at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon. Arsenal's last bid for Mudryk was said to be in the region of €70 million (£62 million), plus an additional €25 million (£22 million) worth of add-ons.
Technical director Edu will now hope to find a suitable alternative during the remaining two weeks of the winter window and according to Italian outlet CMW, that is Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic. Their report claims that the north London outfit are planning to offer the Italian giants €80 million (£71 million) for Vlahovic, who has netted seven goals in 15 outings so far this season.

Arsenal tried to lure the Serbian frontman to the Emirates Stadium 12 months ago before he opted to sign for The Old Lady instead, a move that has had mixed results given the Serie A side's defensive style under head coach Massimiliano Allegri. Juventus are also said to be in financial turmoil, something that could potentially help the Gunners prise the 22-year-old away from Turin.
Still, it remains to be seen how genuine Arsenal's interest is in the player considering they are arguably more in need of a winger than a centre-forward despite Gabriel Jesus' current knee injury.
