The One Show's Alex Scott revealed a quirky story about her family on tonight's (Friday) show. Reporter Matt Allwright was visiting the world-famous Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club in London as part of a package.
As Alex and her co-presenter Roman Kemp were in the studio with guests James Arthur and Katherine Parkinson, Alex revealed the reason her brother got his name. And the revelation amused all of the guests.
Smiling, she began: "My mum is at home saying ‘please don’t Alex, please don’t’."

She went on: "Basically my mum and dad went on their first date to Ronnie Scott’s, the jazz caff, and my brother, my older brother is called Ronnie Scott."
Everyone laughed at the sweet tale, but Alex's mum must be fed up hearing it. The presenter added: "And she’s like ‘don’t ever say that story again’. I’m sorry, Mum."
Roman added: "What a first date that must have been."
Alex has previously spoken about her family and her childhood. She was born in Poplar, East London, to a British mother and a Jamaican father, Tony Scott.
Her mum, Carol McKee, also has Northern Irish, English and Lithuanian-Jewish heritage. Alex revealed her father left when she was seven years old and, in her book published last year, spoke on the subject of domestic abuse in her childhood home.
The One Show is on Mondays to Fridays at 7pm
