The One Show's Alex Jones has shared a string of loved-up snaps after she was whisked away by her husband for a city break. Alex, who turned 46 over the weekend, and her partner Charlie Thomson enjoyed a mini getaway in Amsterdam.
Alex and Charlie, who tied the knot at Cardiff Castle on New Year's Eve in 2015, enjoyed food and drink, a boat ride, sightseeing and downtime during the trip. In one sweet photograph the Welsh presenter's husband planted a kiss on her cheek, in another the pair enjoyed a drink by the canal.
Posing for a selfie with her husband, Alex wrote: "Thank you so much for all the birthday messages. Kicked off a brand new year wandering around the canals in Amsterdam in the sunshine with my favourite adult."

Alex's The One Show co-host Ronan Keating wrote: "Happy Birthday Al," while friend and colleague Gethin Jones added: "PB [ Penblwydd Hapus] Al xx."
The presenter, who hails from Ammanford, later shared a reel of the pair's adventures before posting a snap from the plane as the pair returned to their three little ones, Kit, five, Teddy, three, and one-year-old Annie on Mother's Day.
Last year Charlie whisked Alex away on a mystery surprise trip to Paris for her birthday. Posing with a cake on Friday, March 18, 2022, Alex told her social media followers: "Thanks to my friends and family for making it such a lovely day. Husband is surprising me with a mystery overnight date. Half an hour to pack and no idea what to put in!!!!!"
Alex then documented the journey as the pair headed to a mystery destination. "Where are we going?" she asked Charlie as they travelled down the motorway, to which he replied: "I can't tell ya."
Speaking to the camera Alex excitedly told followers: "We're going on a birthday surprise overnight, we're in an Uber and we're going down the M4, and he let slip. He said, 'can you take more than 100ml on the plane?'"
Alex then shared another picture as the pair arrived at Heathrow's Terminal 5 before it was finally confirmed she was heading to Paris. For more showbiz and television stories get our newsletter here.
