The One Show was back on screens in its usual slot on Tuesday, September 20. It comes after many programmes in the BBC schedule were adjusted on removed over the last 10 days to make way for special coverage or documentaries about the Queen following her death at Balmoral on Thursday, September 8.
Over the course of the week, The One Show aired a special tribute programme called Our Queen Remembered, where Alex Jones and Gethin Jones shared stories of Her Majesty and spoke to members of the public about their fond memories.
Alex, who hails from Ammanford, said she felt "very privileged" to be presenting such a special show in honour of Britain's longest-reigning monarch. The tribute programme also aired over the weekends, which discombobulated some viewers who have only ever tuned into The One Show on weekdays.

On Tuesday, the show returned to screens in its usual slot with Emma Willis and Jermaine Jenas at the helm. Presumably taking a break after a stint reporting on such a momentous occasion, Alex shared a touching message with her Instagram followers.
"Thank you for watching over the last ten days," she said. "It was an honour to pay tribute to Her Majesty the Queen and reading your messages and seeing your photos was the best part."
She also spoke about being reunited with her "old pal" Gethin Jones, who presented the special shows alongside her. Alex continued: "Also, being next to my old pal @gethincjones is always a treat. Sad and special times all at once."
