The OA season 2 trailer: Exclusive first look as release date and pictures released by Netflix

The OA is returning to Netflix on 22 March and The Independent has the scoop on what to expect.

The first season followed the character OA, played by Brit Marling, who resurfaces after going missing for seven years. In Part II, she finds herself navigating a “new dimension” where she has a completely different life as a Russian heiress – and once again captured by Jason Isaac’s character Hap.

The follow-up season also introduces the private detective Karim Washington (Kingsley Ben-Adir), who attempts to find the missing teen Michelle Vu (Chloë Levine). Washington’s path eventually crosses with OA, and they try to solve the mystery of Michelle’s whereabouts.

Together, they also attempt to work out what’s happening at the house on Nob Hill and its connection to the disappearance of several teenagers.

Back in the first dimension, BBA (Phyllis Smith) and the boys find themselves on a journey to understand the truth behind OA’s story and the incredible realities she described.

The Independent has a set of exclusive images from the upcoming season, as well as the trailer, which you can watch above.

Emory Cohen, Patrick Gibson, Brendan Meyer, Ian Alexander, Brandon Perea and Sharon van Etten are among the returning cast members, while Paz Vega and Riz Ahmed are back as guest stars.

Newcomers include Kingsley Ben-Adir and Chloë Levine, while Irène Jacob joins as a guest star.

The OA Part II will be available to stream on Netflix on 22 March – you can find a full list of everything else joining next month here.
