A woman in her 40s and a man in his 50s have been confirmed as the latest deaths related to COVID-19 in the Northern Territory.
It brings the total number of COVID-19 deaths recorded in the NT to nine.
The woman, who had underlying health conditions, died at her home in Alice Springs on February 4, NT Health said in a statement.
The man, who also had underlying health conditions, died at the Alice Springs Hospital on February 7.
Both deaths were confirmed as being COVID-related by the Chief Health Officer this morning.
The number of coronavirus patients in hospital has dropped slightly from 168 to 164, as have the number of patients requiring oxygen, from 30 to 27.
There are three patients in the intensive care unit.
It comes as the NT government today announced 1,130 new COVID-19 cases, including 34 of which are being added to Thursday's tally.
There were 612 cases recorded in the Top End region, 226 in Central Australia, 91 in the East Arnhem region, 81 in the Big Rivers region and 17 in the Barkly region.
Sixty-nine are under investigation.
The number of active cases in the NT is now about 7,379.
