The Nottingham shops making us feel Christmassy already

While some of us might still be looking ahead to Bonfire Night and Halloween, there are many who look forward to being able to get the Christmas decorations out.

It's almost the most wonderful time of the year, some shops are wasting no time in getting in on the act with decorations, Christmas trees, festive food and more. It might still be a bit early for some but there is something to be said for getting the organisation done early leaving more time to relax.

While there might still be a fair few pumpkins on display, if you fancy feeling a little festive, then here is our list of places to visit to get a bit of holiday spirit ahead of the actual holiday.

B&M

In recent years, B&M has been leading the pack when it comes to the trend for unusual Christmas trees although this year might be slightly different. The store in Ladybay Retail Park is sadly already closing but there are bits on display like Christmas crackers. Other stores have the full range .

However, you may have to move quickly as the shop is already starting to empty out. We spotted gift tags, wrapping paper and a few bits on display.

TK Maxx

TK Maxx can be a bit of a treasure trove when it comes to decorations for both Halloween and Christmas. The shop has wasted no time in breaking out the festive cheer as there are several stands full of Christmas gear already on the shop floor.

The city centre branch is the best place to pop in for a quick bit of seasonal shopping. If you fancy a bit of festive crafting, there are options for creating your own wreath which can make a great post-Halloween activity. There is a bit of Christmas food on offer too.

Boots

Nothing says Christmas like shopping for gifts. Boots are one of the best places to pick up a gift set and the team is already preparing the shop floor ahead of the holiday season.

Some of the best Boots brands have created gift sets such as Soap and Glory along with others such as Dove or Baylis and Harding soap. There are also cooking sets that create a great gift for anyone interested in whipping up a Christmas feast.

Although there are no decorations in store, it won't be long until the shop is fully decorated. The gift section is a good place to start to get planning your Christmas gift list.

The Range have a full Christmas display out on the shopfloor (Nottingham Post)

The Range

The range has gone all out with its Christmas display as it has taken over almost the entire upstairs of the shop in Ladybay retail Park. There are lights, decorations, giant trees and wreaths as far as the eye can see.

Downstairs is still dedicated to all things Halloween however so it's not too late to pop a bat or two in the basket as you whizz around. However, there are some really cute decorations such as mini cameras, postboxes and deers. For anyone looking for unusual colours, there are black, white and copper ornaments along with bright white trees.

It's also worth noting that B&M and The Range are very close to Dunkin' Doughnuts in case you need a sugar fix after all that festive fun.

Shipley Park Garden Centre

This Saturday, October 1 marks the start of the Christmas department at Shipley Park Garden Centre with thousands set to attend the event in the run-up to the big day. Visitors can take in the light displays, decorations and from November, real trees.

The garden centre restaurant, The Gardeners' Retreat will also offer a range of festive favourites such as Christmas dinners and festive afternoon teas.

Simon Fox, Centre Manager at Shipley Park Garden Centre, said "We are all excited for customers to see the department this year. The team has been amazing, working day and night throughout September to create something extraordinary."

"This year, we open in early October to meet our customers' demand, and I think they will be blown away by what the team has created this year. It is a truly magical winter wonderland."
