The North East schools closed on Friday July 7 for teachers' strike - see full list

Many schools across the North East are set to shut or partially close as teachers go on strike again on Friday.

Members of the National Education Union (NEU) are continuing their fight for a fully-funded above-inflation pay rise and strikes have been staged across the country several times this year. The latest one took place on Wednesday.

Another walkout in state schools and sixth form colleges is taking place on Friday, July 7. Campaigners will form picket lines across the North East and there will be a rally in Durham Market Place at midday.
